Tusc has now opened its doors to the public! The opening evening on the 2^nd December 2011 was a huge success with over 130 invited guests attending, eager to see what was on offer. The response was fabulous and the opening night saw many guests treating themselves to some of our early Christmas specials, over a glass of bubbly!

PERMANENT MAKE-UP - TUSC

Permanent make-up is a wonderful treatment to have for many reasons! When done correctly it can enhance natural features on one’s face or correct small imperfections and can improve a person’s self confidence greatly!

Permanent makeup is tattooing, but there are a few differences from the body art work done in tattoo shops, firstly the machine most Permanent Makeup technicians work with is known as a rotary machine, the beats per second are a lot slower and so it is much gentler in order to work on the face. The pigments or colour used on the face are muted tones of colour as the general idea for permanent makeup is to enhance natural features not to replace bright makeup. This is really important to note when finding a technician.

There are so many great things a person could have done:

1.  Make lashes appear fuller a very thin line is tattooed into the lash line to create the illusion of thicker fuller eyelashes without having a thick eyeliner line.
2. To enhance eyes, eyeliners can be done to give definition. This is also great for ladies that have allergies to eye makeup as well as sports ladies that would like the definition but cannot apply makeup before activities.
3. 
   Eyebrows that are thin or been over plucked through the years can be made to appear fuller again.
4. Brows that need some remedial work can be corrected. Brows that have scars from surgical procedures or injuries can be made to look full again.
5. Lip liners really help to define lip shapes and give that hint of colour that makes the lip shape more definite.

WHY TUSC PREFERS THE "IPL HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENT", apposed to laser and other hair removal methods?

IPL stands for INTENSE PULSED LIGHT, although both laser and IPL use light to cause damage to the hair follicle IPL is able to deliver greater energies at optimal wavelengths while causing less damage to the skin. IPL is also used for skin rejuvination, now thats not to bad for a side effect. It is painless, gentle and affordable.

ELLIPSE

TUSC would like to introduce everyone to the revolutionary new ELLIPSE LIGHT system, for safe effective hair and pigmentation removal. The system is the first of its kind in South Africa and we very excited to be introducing it to you. So how does it work? ELLIPSE uses completely safe, short bursts of visible light emitted from a flash lamp. The light is then filtered by a dual mode filtering system that ensures that only the light of the correct wavelength reaches the skin. Any harmful wavelengths are eliminated, preventing burns from occurring during treatment. The appropriate wavelength is then absorbed by the pigment in the hair, and converted to heat. The heat is transmitted to the hair follicle, which is then destroyed and unable to produce a new hair.

The number of treatments required will vary from person to person, as hair growth in the body is cyclical consisting of growth and resting phases. Only follicles that contain a hair in the growth phase will respond, those in the resting phase will not.

It is therefore necessary to repeat the treatment until all follicles have been through their growth phase.
On average 3-8 treatments are needed, with intervals of about 4-8 weeks.

It is important that no hair be removed by plucking, tweezing, waxing or depilatory cream during the 4 weeks before having a treatment. This ensures that as many follicles as possible contain a hair. Tanning outdoors or on sunbeds, and the use of selftan must also be avoided, as the extra melanin in the skin will make the treatment less effective.

It is also very important to limit sun exposure for a few weeks after treatment, and apply a good sunblock on a daily basis to prevent pigmentation.

There is no need for use of anaesthetics beforehand, and pain tolerance will vary from person to person. The sensation is much like a rubber band snapping on the skin.

ELLIPSE has also developed a revolutionary system ideally suited to safe hair removal on dark skins. This is the first of its kind in the world, previously darker skin tones could not be treated without causing burning and pigmentation.

For those of you with sun damage, age spots, pigmentation, diffused redness and sun induced premature ageing -we now have a solution! ELLIPSE has created a photo rejuvenation treatment to deal safely and effectively with these problems.

This treatment however is only suited to medium and light complexions where there is a pronounced contrast between colour or blood supply, and the surrounding skin. This will allow the light to target the desired area only, and not the surrounding skin.

A client should expect to have 1-3 treatments with approximately 6 week intervals.
